What is Custom Software?
Custom Software is a computer program or web site designed for your company, based on your current business model. Contrasted with off the shelf software, custom software allows the software to grow with the business over time.

What is Custom Software cost effective?
In addition to cutting down on user licenses, custom software replaces many repetitive tasks by combining data that is stored in several different locations. If your company currently imports and exports between Microsoft© Word, Excel, or Access in order to accomplish different tasks then a custom program will save countless hours of data manipulation by having all the data in one place. Custom reports can then be generated from the data at the click of a mouse.

Software designed specifically for your company can cuts down on new user training by replacing large bulky "feature loaded" software with a streamlined program including only the features your business uses. Experienced employees learn quickly and are then able to train new employees in a matter of hours instead of days.

One major difference between custom and non-custom software is that with pre-written software, you are paying for the right to use the software (a license), and every new installation on another computer requires a license. With custom software, you own the rights to the software, and you do not pay additional fees to add users. You are free to resell the software to any other party, or install it on as many computers as you like.

What if my company changes?
Custom Software can be modified to accommodate any type of infrastructure changes or modifications. The source code for the software belongs to you and as a company can have the software modified by anyone you choose. Usually unless some unforeseen event arises, software once written needs no maintenance at all, and can remain in place indefinitely.

What are the associated fees for software design?
Custom software generally requires three different types of programming. Most important is the database design. This is usually the most critical part of the design process. Then programmers develop a GUI or graphical user interface for the database. If you need a web interface that requires another type of programmer. Cost is based entirely upon an hourly rate, and the different types of programmers all bill at different rates. Only a careful analysis of the business model will provide enough information to process an estimate.
